The BJP came third in the poll results for the Songsak constituency. Dikkanchi D. Shira, the wife of Mukul Sangma, was victorious from Mahendraganj, trouncing Premananda Koch, her nearest political rival from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), by more than 6, 000 votes as per officials of the Election Commission.
