Dr. Mukul M Sangma, Chief Minister, Meghalaya, inspected the site for the KJP Synod Mihngi 2018 Annual Meeting at Tynring. This mega public worship and conference based event will be held at Lum Swai and Dr. Sangma later addressed the gathering at the reception held later at the Tynring Presbyterian Higher Secondary School. He expressed his delight at having the chance to review Government efforts for this event and also for helping Tynring host this big congregation in March 2018.
He also stated that officers from diverse line departments were already striving to maintain timelines for this event. He also talked of how the area would receive specific collateral advantages with the intervention on part of the Government for the KJP Synod 2018. Dr. Sangma expressed his satisfaction with the Synod venue and added that it offered a pristine natural landscape for participants. He talked of how Shillong faced challenges with regard to open spaces for hosting major gatherings. The Shnong of Tynring can definitely consider infrastructure for hosting even bigger gatherings or congregations in the near future according to Dr. Sangma. He also assured full support from the State Government in this regard.
The gathering was briefed by PWD (Roads), PHE and MeECL officials with regard to the initiatives taken by these Government departments and also the current progress with regarding the upcoming Synod preparations. The inspection event was attended by Pastors from KJP Synod Mihngni, David Nongrum, MLA, Mawryngkneng, P S Dkhar, DC, East Khasi Hills, Pastors from Laithumkhrah Presbytery and Dorbar Shnong, Tynring members.
